Here we are then. Get a letter arrive at home the other day (about two weeks ago) from work. I think what's this? Open it and it say's your bonus for 2010 is x and it should be paid on x

Well, it hasn't been paid on x... (I know that much), but check online anyway - no not paid.

Ask HR, no record here, check with the Admin team. "Sorry, it's an error, should never have been sent that letter"

Two days later at home get a revised letter without the 'your bonus...' line.

Well PHer's what are my options?

BTW I won't discuss the amount as this is irrelevant.

Cheers,

Err..... None.

Someone made a clerical error, they've sent you the correct letter.

Are you expecting something else?

confused

Just wondering. Clerical error or not it's a bit gutting, original letter basically useless and ready for recycling then.

Is your bonus calculation contractual or is the bonus discretionary?

A fine use of the ha ha picture heheyes

Maybe the OP is seeking compensation for the stress of receiving the bonus letter intended for someone else? Not sure what other options there could possibly be confused

No bonus was paid to anyone in this instance.

It's just an error linked purely to me - I have found out this week why, but can't discuss on here...

Doesn't look like I have

Generally all a bit bks really. Would have been nice to have a chat / letter with an apology, not just a reissued letter.

Like the HA HA - made me giggle.
