Syvecs engine management system
Discussion
Having just put a little question on the page for Chimaeras as I have just bought one - like a fool, divorce pending "Is that a promise, darling?" - I remembered I should have posted before about the remarkable improvements wrought to my Cerbera by the Syvecs system installed at Racing Green a few months ago. I am no technician, but I can see the big 410 horsepower number on the graph. The new pull from the engine is terrific - from 1000 revs to 7000 revs in 5th should you feel the need. And the in-gear overtaking acceleration is rather good too. She is not entirely smooth at nose-to-tail, 1st gear speeds, but I have learnt to drive round that and anyway Ryan the Injection Magician will be able to fix it in due course I'm sure. I am mindful of what happened on these forums when - apropos the S6 work these guys did - people got upset about advertising: all I am saying is that I had this done to my car and I like the results. I imagine others would too. Less popping and banging to be sure, but still hardly a stealth weapon: a transformational modification worth looking at. (Also had a Quaife diff and some of the lighter, RG components put in last year - they made a great difference too and started me on this upgrades lark.)
Can't comment on it yet as it hasn't yet been run, but my 4.7 race engine will be running on SYVECS. Got it sitting at home ready for the engine to be finished! Not too bothered about smootheness, but knock control, full throttle adaptive mapping, the very adaptable input/outputs and CAN bus link to my logger and digital dash are nice.
Nah, no need for it. Spoke at length with Ryan at Syvecs, and the S6GP will perform all operations required. It can still run the engine with sequential injection, though this is not necessary in my case. Better to have fired pairs, so a little extra fuel is used to cool the cylinders, between cycles. My injectors will still be running at half the speed of an MBE controlled car though, and I will be running Bosche 440cc/min uprated injectors anyway.
The only thing the S6 can't do it run twin lambda sensors, but I will plug a second one in via the 0-5v input with an external controller, so it will be running EGT, twin lambdas, knock control, and monitoring fuel pressure, air temp, oil temp, oil press, then running a separate electric water pump for each bank (each controlled off a separate temp sensor on its respective bank so both banks are kept optimal). Looks to be a decent bit of kit, and well priced too. Just got to jivvy Austec into getting the motor finished now!

Sorry to have kept you in suspense - am in another time zone. The cost for the full Syvecs deal was £2500 + VAT. (And we know how much we love VAT.) It improves pretty much everything - including the power.. Having followed these forums for quite a few years, I thought it was widely acknowledged that the big power numbers were more often observed in the breach (although I do always tell my son to point out the power-to-weight ratio and the hp figure in Evo, while adding that being Red Rose spec "ours is even better"..) I thought 410 was pretty good - I must try turning it up a bit, then! There's been supercharger talk....?
