Afternoon,

The other day I stood up to change a DVD off the sofa and my right ankle had a twinge in it and I couldn't walk properly without a limp. This has since got worse, possibly because I have to walk on it each day, last night I tried to elevate it above my heart which was fine but it started throbing whilst in that position and the pain got worse and worse all night. This morning it felt alot better but after walking to work it's getting painful again. Any ideas?

The only thing I can roughly possibly relate it to was I was playing football for a couple of hours the day before but it was fine and I have never had this odd pain before.

The pain starts on the inside of the foot just below the bone and then goes up either side in a V shape and even hurts the shin bone. Very odd, pretty sure I have had lost or twisted ankles in the past and usually they don't bother me but this feels different.

Sorry about the wall of text.

Where is the pain? Below what bone?

You really can't expect it to get better without rest, which means no walking to work!! Rest, ice, elevate, supportive footwear ie trainers and analgesia (ibuprofen if you can take them)
