Hi, I'm looking to purchase either a BMW 530 or a 535 diesel 2006/2007 . Is the 535 worth the extra money and drop in mpg ? I see there is an option for paddle shift , is this system any good ? Any advice on what to look out for both cars would be greatly appreciated . Is there a web page for the options available for a 2007 530/535d

Mmm. I thought about this choice over a year ago and a friend who had owned a 535d pointed me in the right direction. Absolutely nothing wrong with the 530d -in fact a superb all rounder. And then someone slips by with that 535d badge and you feel the pain. I have never remotely thought about the mpg difference and you will probably never notice (or miss) the slight reduction. In actual fact, I recently had my E60 535d re-mapped by Simon at E-Maps nudging it to 330bph and around 600 torque. And actually seeing better fuel performance. It will happily give you 40mpg on the Mways with a little encouragement.
Go on, you know you have to.....
