Discussion
Being thrashed up and down Crawley bypass ... Mark Adams strapped to the bonnet - tweeking it .. Paul driving and grinning like a cheshire cat ...
Seriously. Harry that makes some awesome power - I cannot beleive it's just 4.0 litres ..
And I'm not saying how muck bhp .. I'm sure Harry will want that honour

Sad I can;t be there
, I'm stuck in Athens on business, someones got to do it
.
Not sure what power its making at the moment
, just got off the phone to Paul. The car is up to its usual tricks of yet more minor problem holding it up, but thats sorted now (apparently).
I should know tomorrow when I speak to Austec and Mark what the final outcome is
.

Trev 192 V8 dashboard
I read all the comments that were posted with some dismay, as my dash was flaking badly. Fortunately
I have a "craftsman in wood" in the family and after many hours he has created a Burr Walnut Veneer dashboard and switch plate of superb quality and attention to detail. He says he can supply them for half the £600 quoted on this site by post or if the car is taken to him these can be fitted for an extra £50.00, you don't even have to remove the dash as it fits straight on top, if you are interested contact Andy at donna@mattyscottage.fsnet.co.uk he should have some photographs that he can mail you.

Hi Harry,
I have just bought a Mark Addams Tornado chip, so will be booking the car into Austec, what were your results?? Are you back yet?? I wouldnt mind seeing your gains so I know what to expect.
Cheers
Mike
Every TVR engine is the same, but every TVR engine is different

. I'm sure you're aware that the tornado chip alone does not guarantee power hikes, if your car is under performing on the standard chip then you may notice more.
Mark nor Austec, understandably like any other tuner, will give you figures up front that may not be delivered.
However it has to be said the chip on its should will improve driveability no end. You may end up with 0hp or 30hp, 0Torque or 40Torque extra, you just can't tell. What it does do though is allow the benefits of any other mods to be taken advantage of. Talk to Colin (pies) about some basic things like an improved Y piece (ACT/HarryW developed
), on its own it gives top end at the expense of losing a little lower down but with chipping you can re-instate the bottom end, have cake and eat. Personally, I'm trying to sort out getting decent air flow into the plenum at present (Pete any Piccies
and the injectors can't give any more fuel. As for the pub figures
, I won't post them here, but will say that it is currently drawing air like a 4.6 and using fuel like a good 500, but it could do with more of both to reach its full potential, draw your own conclusions

Although I been told its still running a bit lean and needs bigger injectors
sounds familiar..!
Slight update, may just need the fuel pressure tweaking up a little, will try that firstdeffo a cheaper route to go IMHO.
Harry
Exactly the same route that I'm looking to take with mine... unless I can find a couple of spare cylinders...

Cheers Harry, No problem just wanted an idea. I have the S/S ACT Y piece so it should help me, with the low end we will see.

So Mike yours should be very similar to mine
That will be interesting, looking forward to the pub figures/graphs, as yours is seriously strong. If Mikes ends up with similar results with just the Y and a chip then it should be made compusory for all V8S to have them
