Fire system check

I have a SPA Design automatic fire system. Can anybody tell me how to check it's 'armed' please so that I don't set it off. It has a three way switch. Move the switch up and the green light comes on to confirm 'battery check'. This works. The middle position is labelled 'system inactive' but there's no lights lit and down is labelled 'system active' but shows nothing either. I can't get the 'system check' light to come on but don't know if I'm following the correct procedure.

The system check is when the switch is also set inactive, then press the extinguisher button, the light should then come on.

Thanks, got it sorted. Managed to trace the problem to a loose wire.
