Need some help. Wheels on my 3R were getting a bit tatty, so took them for refurb, meerily removed all the platic allen bolts as recommended, took them to the shop, all going well thus far. Phoned Kerridges the next day to order replacement plstic allen bolts, (already knowing they are a huge cost) only to be advised that the factory making them had gone bust, and thus no longer available.
Understand that some of you have used SS or ali allen bolts and cut them off and glued in place. Is this safe, given relative weight of SS opposed to plastic should they come adrift and effect the wheel balance? If so what adhesive did you use and what size of bolts?

Thanks your help

Use a good twin pack epoxy resin, they should not affect balance, and if glued in properly then they should not come off, get them rebalanced after to make sure.

I've cut the heads off three bolts with a hacksaw before I got bored, is there a quick way to do it?

Why bother? The wheels look better without them.
