Insurance threads
Discussion
Sorry to keep banging on about this.... But insurance threads boil my piss!! I know I just shouldn't look but I can't help but read the ludicrous back stories.
"I'm annoyed because my insurance is so expensive, I have points an live in a rough area and want to buy a sports car"
"I passed my test this morning and no one will insure me on a saxo VTS"
Etc etc etc etc
Can't we not have a dedicated insurance matters forum?

I'll have a chat with Garlick and see what he thinks, but its a tricky one. If we moved them out, would anyone go in to the forum to reply to them, or would it just end up with a constant stream of one post threads?
I don't know, but its worth thinking about, even if we don't do it straight away.

I was thinking it could work like a helpdesk, with willing volunteers from the industry answering questions; that way people with genuine insurance questions, such as about policy technicalities or where they stand in a dispute, have somewhere central to discuss it, and people who just want to pointlessly state their renewal price or how bad a quote was can just have the 1 post threads.
Maybe someone like R1loon would be good to have on board?

Whilst good in concept, these people have day jobs I'm afraid... Also, care has to be taken, as the sale of insurance (and to an extent, the advice on purchase of insurance) is regulated.. Maybe someone like R1loon would be good to have on board?

In what way?, R1Loon is a consumer for many different insurance policies motorbikes, cars etc.
He gives advice from both sides.
Can't dispute that He gives advice from both sides.

As I said he's useful to have around, and you certainly get a view (usually in no uncertain terms
) of the way an insurer would look at somethingIf there was an insurance sticky this has to be one of the more useful ones
