mazda advert on TV last night.

During the the break between the Spurs and Madrid game there was a Mazda advert, one of the best (ok I am a RX-8 owner and fan) I've seen and eloquent, explaining their philosphy and strangly for a car ad film of cars going sideways and flooring it (RX-7, RX-8) as well as a bit on their Le-Mans win.

Never has a car ad made me feel so proud to be a Rotary engined owner! Mazda rock.

I've only seen that ad once but through it, they kept showing bits of what I can only describe as a white coupe-style car (all the other RXs were shown fully). Is it a new vehicle they have in production?

Interesting about how they follow a bit about rotary engines with how they want to make fuel efficient engines. Surely if they could make the engine in an RX-8 do more than 2mpg then it wouldn't depreciate like the Titanic.

Surely if they could do you reckon they'd already have done it?

They've developed a Hydrogen one at the moment.

They haven't announced the design of the new rotary powered car have they? I've seen a few photoshopped pictures in the past.

On their website there is a section with 4 videos showing how a rotary engine is made, I found that very interesting.

i think they are continuing development with the rotary with the next generation RX-7. They are the only company doing it, so in time the mpg will hopefully be better.

Have to take my hats off to them for continuing with the rotary engine, at least they are taking risks and doing something different. Ever notice how genereic most modern cars are?

Nice ad- I noticed the 787B when I was in the pub, & ignored my company on my little nostalgia trip . I do find it interesting the way that Honda & Mazda have really latched on to the thrill of driving & general engineering pursuit in their adverts ( impossible dream), even if the former seems to be in all-out retreat from the enthusiast market.

Honestly, if you took the Mazda badge of that and stick a Maserati badge on it everyone would be applauding it. Better looking than the Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide in my eyes.

Yep, saw the ad and was very impressed. The contradiction between talking about rotaries and then making "the most fuel efficient engines in the world" was a little distracting but otherwise, a brilliant car ad.

BMW, take note.

Well, the RX-8 is an improvement over the RX-7! The Rotary engine needs development, but as Mazda are the only ones doing it will take time.

I do think they were talking about other engines in their range however.

To be fair BMW had a really good ad on not so long ago showing some of the owners going to something like M fest in the USA. Looked ace.

I was really impressed when i saw the advert on TV. It really grabbed my attention and i enjoyed watching it through.

Being a Clio 200 Cup owner i have to say in comparison to Renault's pathetic "va va voom" offering these are vastly superior. I am always left puzzled why Renault make acclaimed hot hatches then fill their latest advertising with shots of Rhianna prancing around and the car being hung upside down? Mazda on the other hand hit the nail on the head with this advert.
