Weber BBQ

morning all.

I've read the recommendations to go for a Weber BBQ, but I was wondering if anyone has used the compact version?

Never owned a BBQ before and likely to only use one half a dozen times a year, so wanted to ask if compact is good enough? (one touch is about double in price)

Yeah it's perfectly fine mate.

To add, you may find that you get really into barbecuing as a little bit of effort beyond simply snags & burgers pays dividends. If this happens, you'll probably outgrow the compact very soon and wish you'd spent the extra £50 on the one touch.

Yep, we have the little tabletop Weber, I think its called the Smokey Joe, brilliant little thing, the lid on it even locks so you can chuck it in the car and take it on days out - highly recommended.

I've got a Gas BBQ that I bought last summer. I do actually fancy the Smokey Joe Weber just to take to parks and places in the summer! is £50 reasonable or they to be had cheaper than that?

I have this Webber



I bought it purely because its the right shape to fit in the front boot of my Cayman so I could take it to Le Mans.

Great BBQ and fine for cooking for up to 4 people but anything more than that you might want a bigger one.

I bought the little webber kettle one about 10 years ago. A solid, fine bit of kit. They haven't changed the design one bit I don't think, which is a good thing.

However, it doesn't cook stuff quite as quick as the Vettel BBQ though. Sorry.

Yes but the Smokey Joe is still handy to lob in the boot if you are cooking away from home, Le Mans, camping etc
