I have a new regulator to hook up for our static caravan.

I know you can't use regular PTFE tape for the pipe fittings, so was thinking of using one of the following - anyone any suggestions which would be best?

Gas PTFE

Sealer - not entirely sure this is ok for LPG, will need to double check and possibly seek an alternative.

Thanks,
Steve

If they are suitable for second and third family gasses you should be O.K
The tightness test should reveal any problems.

What are you connecting the gas regulator to? If it is to a rubber hose, then just a suitable hose clip will do the job, after connection testing the same with washing up liquid for any visible signs of leaks.

Ta for the replies.

I'll be connecting it to the main feed pipe (metal) that runs across under the caravan.

Remember that the temperature stabilisation and tightness tests are both much longer than for Natural Gas.

LOL.

Dirk, it's a shame you're not closer to Berkshire. I'm trying to find a Gas Safe engineer to install the new boiler I have for the caravan, and do a gas cert for it.

So far the ones contacted have either not shown up when booked or haven't bothered to reply to messages left. Must be nice to be that busy! frown
