A good 944 is a great usable classic. Huge boot with the seats down and you can - at a struggle - put someone in the back. Fundamentally fairly reliable, especially the 8 valve examples without the later car's potential for cam chain issues. Arguably they're a touch clinical - so if you're used to British or Italian cars you might find them rather dry - but they work well if looked after.

They're very good - I've had several. I wouldn't touch the one in that advert with a stty stick though. It's not cheap enough for one with dodgy sills.

I had one and they are slow. In fact I think they were pretty slow even when compared to other cars back in their day. The 928 I had was much more fun (4.7 V8)
