That annoys me. Not because of the chavvy nature of the stick-on Halfords addenda, or the frankly cringe-worthy public display of affections, but because they haven't bothered to properly align the lettering centrally with the number plate.

Bet it's actually a 1.6TDCI Focus Edge. There's one round here done up like a ST - only thing shows it's a TDCI is the Powerdrums on the back, and the rattle of the Pug diesel under the bonnet.

Theres a white Focus RS for sale at my local Ford dealer, up for 19.5k and if it weren't for the image of the typical owner it's a car I'd be interested in looking at further. However, along with Imprezas and Evos it's a car I'll never own for that very reason.

I love theFocus RS, and was seriously tallying up everything I had to see if I could get one. I couldn't, but the few that I've seen seem to belong to people who you would not think could afford it. One day a battered Fiat Bravo, next day a Focus RS, also seen this person do many short trips.

Don't you think the numberplate is enough though?

They've obviously forked out a fair few quid on a "personalised" plate which clearly means something to them and shows the love they share. It's not even an "obvious" personalised plate and, for a change, hasn't been "modified" to say something it doesn't.

All in all, a pretty subtle personalised number plate.

And fair play, why not, if that's your bag and you've got the money.



But then they add £3.50's worth of self-adhesive, chrome-effect, badly-aligned lettering which, in an attempt to "explain" the meaning of the plate to the wider world, just cheapens it and drags it down to "chav tat" level.
