I'm really regretting this already. I've never been on Ryan Air, EasyJet, etc so a little unfamiliar with what's allowed. The website, tickets, etc make nothing clear, probably deliberately so.
What am I allowed to take baggage wise?
Boarding Pass said:
1 CABIN BAG ONLY - 55 x 40 x 20 CM (MAX 10 KG)

HANDBAG, BRIEFCASE, LAPTOP, SHOP PURCHASE, CAMERAS ETC. MUST BE CARRIED WITHIN YOUR CABIN BAG.
Below this, in smaller print it goes on to say:
Boarding Pass said:
Extra/oversized cabin baggage will be refused, or where available, placed in the hold of the aircraft for a fee of £35.
What is confusing me is on the Travel Itinerary:
Travel Itinerary said:
30.00 GBP Passenger Fee: Checked Bag(s)
... which shows I've paid £30 for checked baggage.

Is this as well as the CABIN BAG or the same thing?

What I want to take is a holdall in the cabin and a suitcase in the hold, like a regular flight.

Yes, you have paid to do that.

Just make sure your holdall isn't oversize/weight, they will make you check it if it is. Also watch the checked suitcase weight, they will charge you excess baggage.

Don't forget that the limit really is 1 cabin bag. Anything you buy after going through security has to fit in that cabin bag as well, or they'll make you check it and charge you ££££.

As long as you treat a Ryanair flight just like a bus ride, you'll be fine. There are no creature comforts on board (other than the loo), and seating is first-come, first served. You can't reserve a fire-exit row or anything, and if you're travelling with others then make sure you're near the front of the boarding queue at the gate if you want to sit together.

I flew RA to Dublin recently and the service was fine. We couldn't understand a word the crew or pilot said over the intercom but the plane was clean, modern and punctual with no less legroom than on other scheduled flights.

If your expectations are low then you'll be fine. smile

I had to take a double look when it states you are allowed to take a parachute as your hand luggage!!
