Reg numbers

Is it possible to find out if a reg number is sill in use, I have tried enquiring on a reg plate sale site and I have also tried "we buy any car" to see if I can get a valuation! To see if I could find out!

Check DVLA website, road fund license section and see if it is still being used on a vehicle and enquire with DVLA directly?

Why would you want to ask this question?

If you're hoping DVLA will sell you a plate that's no longer in use you're out of luck. They never re-issue the same plate.

Very cool, yes. I can get the same info and a bit more from work (Halfords) computers, we get vehicle weight and drivetrain stuff too. But completely useless for this - M907ANO was crushed two years ago and still comes up fine there with all correct details, as with any database search. AskMID won't pick up cars that are sitting in a garage somewhere uninsured and SORNed, so.. Not sure how I'd go about this!

Yes they do, by auction, my old reg was up for auction 6 months after i scrapped the vehical
