Got any digital pics of your imported Corvette SVA approved side repeaters?

I fancy a set of Astra ones or new Megane triangular ones but will probably have to settle for some generic white aftermarket jobbies to keep the install simple.

Also what fog light switch did you use. Did anyone use the UK Camaro fog light switch. Is it bespoke or is it a Vauxhall part? Where did you mount it? How many fingers am I holding up?

You could try using the Euro spec Corvette fog light switch (available from Bauer Millett) which goes where the trunk release is on the Z06, or do what my guy did which is fit a tiny rocker switch in the under steering wheel facia.

Does it have to be an illuminated switch?

LuSifer,

Kenski may pitch in here but he has a great installation on the plates behind the side gills.

SVA rules only require that the side repeaters be visible from aft of the beam. his sit behind the screens in the side gills and look very neat. I plan to adopt his fit.

If anyone has any pics of the illuminated switch for the fogs I'd be interested. the one that came with my installation kit is cheap and nasty. I need another better solution.

I know the angle of view has to be between 5 and 60 degrees from behind the indicator but it's risky being artistic if the SVA man is going to be a git.

I had mine fitted by Paul Strudwick of Teslayn Engineering (another plug for Paul, who did a great job). I'm sure if you had questions he'd be happy to discuss fitting, angles etc. By putting the repeaters behind aftermarket grilles in the gills (try saying that after a couple of beers) they're reasonably well hidden and there's no need to drill through the external bodywork, preserving the overall look of the car. To be honest, since having the work done I've not noticed them at all, which I guess is the point!

Paul did mine like this too, I think mine was the first one he did like this in May 2003. I have the aftermarket grills in the fender slots so the lights are all but invisible unless the indicators are flashing.

LuSifer,

The installation really is sweet. Would it be worth preparing the ground with the SVA people? The address is:

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency
PO Box 12
Swansea
SA1 1BP.

BTW, I have a copy of the draft revision of the SVA Manual if anyone needs a copy.

I'd love a copy as the car is being shipped on the 1st June. How long do they take to arrive?

Cheers. They look fantastic but I think I'm going to go the boring route. I've got some white iridium repeaters that have a pearlescent blue tinge to them that should go with the electron blue. I'll decide when it arrives.
