Integrated Tool Sets

I'm fed up of scratting around for tools and wand a decent organised set

I like the look of Teng Tools cabinet sets. I believe they're good quality and come with organiser trays which would encourage me to put things back properly!

Aside from mega expensive Snap On kit, anyone know of any good alternatives to Teng?

Halfords Professional tools are very good quality. They also come with a lifetime warranty. I've burst a couple of ratchets and a 1/2" drive extension, and they replaced them no problem. They broke through mis-use to be fair, and not due to inferior quality! I don't think putting 3" metal tubes over the end of a ratchet for more leverage helped them any!! Lol.

+1 for halfords professional - very easy to get replacement if something breaks (obviously you need to replce it quickly because you're probably using it at the time!)

I use Teng and they are very good and also have a lifetime guarantee.

Teng Tools are good quality, as are Bahco.

The Halfords professional sets are pretty decent, and again come with a lifetime guarantee.

With Snap-On you're paying mostly for the name, plenty of companies make tools of similar quality (Teng, Bahco) and a good few of them give the lifetime guarantee as well (Bahco does).

If you really want Snap-On, I'd suggest trying to source them second hand as brand new ones are stupidly expensive.

I have a Teng chest and a few of their tools. Chest is spot on, better quality than the Halfords stuff IMO.

I can't comment on the organising trays, that would be a step too far for me to cope with. Prefer heaping it in

I agree that the Halfords Tool Chests are not the greatest. I have a Snap On top box and a Teng roll cab. Snap On box was given to me by a mate. It needed rubbed down and painted, but now looks as good as new! And my company were throwing out 4 roll cabs that were broken whilst out on site. I made a good one out of the damaged ones, so was pretty lucky with the storage aspect of my tooling!!

I personally can't see the justification in Snap On's prices!! It must all be attributed to the name, as the lifetime warranty aspect comes with most larger tool manufacturers these days.

Incidentaly, does anyone know who makes Halfords tools for them???
