I don't abuse them but to hurl abuse at them.

Especially when i loose the bloody things in a car park damn modern bland piles of poop all painted in bloody resale grey.

And they all have brakes with way too much servo action and stupidly light steering.

I also cannot have less mechanical sympathy for a car just because I don't own it- ie no revving the bks off it from cold.

I try not to abuse any car, regardless of whether its mine or not.

I drive my own cars hard, but I wouldnt call that 'abuse'.

Abuse to me is things like 80 year old mrs miggins using twenty thousand revs to pull away and then riding the clutch, which I try to avoid.

What about company cars? Demonstrators? I know of a few people who have had lead boots from delivery miles. I would NEVER by an ex demo, ever!!

Nope, had a Ka thing as a courtesy a while back and just used it as a way to get from A to B.

Would've felt a bit of a dhead thrashing a Ka.

Had a very low mileage E93 M3 courtesy car (awaits the "that's why insurance premiums are so high" flaming) a few weeks back and must admit made sure it was all warmed up before enjoying the far reaches of the rev range!

Sometimes a little less careful with some of the heaps of st you get on holiays but don't set out to abuse them.

Never saw the point of abusing it or of the "it's not mine so I'm going to drive it like a knob" justification that seems to go along with hire cars.

Only ever drove one hire car and drove it the same, if not slightly better, than my own purely because it's someone else's car.

Generally no, but there are in the parking lot of the Atlanta Northlake Mall near Tucker, Georgia some interesting black circles, the width of the lines pretty much exactly matches the width of a 2009 Camaro's rear tyres for some reason......
