Anyone walked the River Wye route?

What have I done 
As per a previous thread I have now booked a campsite and bought various camping equipment for a day of hiking and a nights camping with my 13 yo son! Managed to do it under £100 and he can re-use some of the stuff as he is in the Army Cadets.
We are staying close to Symonds Yat on a campsite and I am planning to walk the River Wye route from Ross to SY which looks to be approx 15 miles
Question is whether anyone on here has done it and if they have any advice/refections/comments?

If memory serves , in the mid 70s we stayed at bracelands camp site and walked the Forest of Dean trails , Red trail , green trail , ........sorry it was a long time ago ...good fun though As per a previous thread I have now booked a campsite and bought various camping equipment for a day of hiking and a nights camping with my 13 yo son! oh and Symonds yat rock view point was not fenced off by the Health and safety pests .....

Update
Well we did this earlier in the week...and my legs are still complaining now!
Walked from Tintern to this campsite

around 15 miles...or would have been if we hadn't overshot by a mile or so and had to walk back a mile
Great hike - loads of quiet, scenery, wildlife etc however I was worried after a couple of miles or so when my lad was struggling with his backpack. I had to carry both for a mile or so when he recovered
After this we had to repack to take all the food/beer out of his pack and swap it for 2 sleeping bags! Suffice to say I was knackered by the time we camped.
Thoroughly recommend the route although if you are not fit I would start further up at Llandogo as the first few miles after Tintern are up steep wooded tracks with a steep descent in places as well.
Campsite was fine for what we wanted. It was very family friendly - loads of age 5-12 kids around enjoying their half term but it did mostly settle down by 10.30-ish. Good clean facilities and a small shop on site. I believe there was a pub within walking distance but as I was so knackered we didnt manage that (carried my own beer with me).
Would I do something similar again? I'll let you know when I'v recovered
