Clunk from the car.....somewhere

Have noticed a clunk coming from the car somewhere, when i am driving it sounds like it is from the passenger side rear wheel area, however it might not be.

The clunk happens when i am changing gear, or sometimes over bumps.

After having the car up on stands the other day and having a shake of a few things to see if they were making noises, i couldn't find anything at the rear which was making any noises. However this evening i had a thought maybe it is from the front! So i got hold of the passenger side front brake caliper, and it seemed to make a noise, however the drivers side doesn't

Is it possible that this could be what is causing the clunking when i am changing gear, over bumps etc?

After having a quick test of the car over the weekend in an empty business park, i found that when doing a slalom, there isn't really a knock noise at all that is heard, however when going around roundabouts, there is a constant knocking noise coming from somewhere, any ideas what it could be?

Probably a bit of diff clonk.

I have just had a look at the droplinks on the back of the car, and taken one off of the passenger side, from what i can see and feel on it, the top of the bush on the bottom joint looks like it is very stiff cracked rubber compared to the rest, which makes me think this may actually be the cause of my problems.

Does anyone here know what a failed arb droplink is likely to look like?

If an arb droplink has failed you can move it with your hand, also check if it has a stainless exhaust fitted they have a habit of clonking on the rear chassis rail around corners I have made a bump stop for mine ot of an exhaust rubber and cable tied it in place.
Also check for play in cv joints in rear axle and prop shaft uni joints.

CV joints etc all seem fine, no play in it, the arb droplinks look a bit worn out, and yes i do have an stainless exhaust fitted on there, where exactly is it that you say it hits?

just by the outlet at the very rear give it a shake from side to side and see if you get the same clonk .it hits the rear chassis rail . My exhaust seams to have less mounting points than the original system so it may be that, its the borla system.

Well it does clonk from time to time as far as i know, as the end of it is quite big. It is kind of hard to know what is causing the noise though really, as i cant see the rear of my car when i am driving, which would really help me find out what it is!
