E30 BMW into M

Does anybody know if a straight six E30 325i BMW engine will fit into a 1600/2500 or 3000M ?
I have a stonking engine i don't want to sell and would like to know if it can be done thus adding another TVR to my collection.

Ian assuming the engine is approx the same length as the Triumph Straight Six (2500) engine then it should fit, BUT check the heights especially towards the the front of the engine (bonnet clearance) - don't forget to leave yourself a reasonable ground clearance!

You probably need to find a 2500/2500M and untertake some measurements

I measured-up a 635 lump that was laying around my local BMW dealer but I reckoned it was too tall to fit without modifying the bonnet. I could have been wrong though, there's only one sure way to find out!
