F1 coverage missing the action

For a while now I've been annoyed with the F1 coverage missing out on overtakes by showing us someone pitting etc. It seems to be getting worse with the increased action this season.
They change the rules (successfully it would seem) to give us more action but then you just see the end result and have a surprised commentator saying he must have got passed. We missed out on Alonso passing Schumacher, Massa on Hamilton and a few more besides. You get up early for the increased action and then they don't show you it.
I think everyone gets the same coverage so it's not a BBC thing but couldn't they delay the feed for 30 seconds to a minute so the director could be told what has happened see what shot to go with and then allow us to enjoy the race in full.

Absolutely not. No way.At least 3 reasons:
i) The whole point of watching it live is that it's LIVE.
ii) For those of us on Betfair during the race a 30sec delay would be catestrophic.
iii) For those of us watching the live timing, a 30sec delay would be a nonsense.

They should have an option to run 4 different shots simultaneously. As a lot of people now have TVs of 37+ inches, each screen would still be plenty big enough and you could watch all four at once almost. It would add a new dimension to watching the races.
With the added bonus of each quarter being a colour so you could push the button to get that as full screen, and then another press of the button gets it back to four screens.deveng said:
What do you suggest they do? If there are lots of battles for position going on all the time then it's impossible to show all of them.

You do realise the BBC don't shoot their own footage of the race.. Its usually supplied by whoever is holding the race, or something along those lines.

ii) The priority should be the majority of the viewers not gamblers.
iii) delay the live timing as appropriate.
I disagree about a delay of the feed even for 30 seconds
takes the point out of it being a live event.
What would be better is a release of a DVD of some sort with complete full length edited races
(not those crappy highlights)
featuring experimental shots and different footage.

Never would happen though.

The coverage is generally very good. Leave it as it is and shoot anyone who even thinks of delaying a live event.
If you were watching GP racing in the 80s and 90s, you would be knocked out by the current coverage. Prior to the 80s, it was hardly covered at all.
Count your blessings.

People moaned about a lack of overtaking, now we have rule changes to increase it yet we are missing the action because of poor direction, what's the point?

slightly o/t but I find it amusing neither DC nor MB noticed Rosberg was in the lead/ about to take it when others pitted for about 5 laps.
On the topic, it's difficult to prioritise, but I would definitely like to see fewer pitstops, especially when they are largely unimportant to the order at the time. there is a great variation of quality in the 'world feed' depending on the local TV company that is doing it.
