97 xj6 Driver side Indicator working fast/faulty
Discussion
Hi, ive just spent a grand on a smart but bargain basement 97 xj6 4.0 sport, ints an absolute gem to drive but the driver side indicators are all working but fast and i get the warning symbol (like there is a bulb out) its the same on hazards but only when the ignitons on, if its off they run at correct rate, ive swapped bulbs across in case of incorrect wattage but no difference there, there is a combined light control module near to the battery in the boot and im suspecting that though ive had a look and a solder around for bad connections (i have an electronic background) and again no luck, i dont have any manuals or wiring info so do any of you veterans of these have any tips or knowledge you can share. many thanks
There should be two bulbs in each front indicator. I've the same problem but on the passenger's side although the car has x308 bumpers with only one bulb in each. I think that might be where my problem arises. In your case, if you have four front indicator bulbs, might be the lights module but even second hand ones appear to be expensive (and although a problem on XJ40, not so problematic on x300). I'd get the miltimeter out and start at the bulbs. Good luck, I look forward to further posts.
