Like a dog with 2 tails after getting this T5 for £200 biggrin

It is FULLY loaded and everything works...I think with new tax, MoT and insurance it will set me back £700 for a year of uberbarge stealth motoring (the T5 badge comes off tomorrow, replaced by 2.0D)

Just shows, bargains to be had. How did you manage to bag it, i'll never know.

Going by thread's title, half expected to see a sagaris or such like

Long story short...went to Brum with me mate to buy a blue T5 on Thursday, bought it for £575, bargain! Mate is now besotted, hasn't driven his Porche since the purchase. Anyway, he is trawling the net for a few bits and finds my car, guy is going to scrap it coz he can't be arsed to MoT it. Same day it's mine for 200 shekles and it's better than me mates biggrin

My uncle had an 850 T5, a MY1995, 5 years old when he got it. It was so good the effect rubbed off on the rest of the family. We've been hooked on them since, I just can't afford the insurance. My brother has a V70 P2 T5 - but its ex-police, and therefore uber rough, basic and he has neglected it badly frown It was shod with £30 Ling Longs not only a few years ago. Still, fun though but doesn't touch the 850 T5 of 90's vintage. Uncle's brother-in-law bought a V70R P2 as a result too, never been in that, but it sure as hell looks tasty. Arguably some of the nicest alloys ever designed (imo) and a rather out of character orange interior. I imagine it goes quite well.

I remember my first ever spirited blast, as a passenger was in my uncles, I must've been about 12 - I felt sick for the rest of the day, and had a headache from adrenaline hangover. Good memories, top motor. Yours is the same colour as his, but unless it has 350k miles I don't think it'll be it. Worth noting, it was on the same turbo at 350k as it was out the factory. I imagine various other parts were original too.

Thing is, I reckon Volvo could've got a lot more from the T5 lump. I can't imagine why they never felt inclined to go after the big boys. No need I guess for their demographic of driver maybe?

Quick update...

Car-£200
Insurance-£324 (fully comp with 35 days abroad and full recovery)
MoT (including parts)-£260
Tax-215
Crankcase breather system change + injector seals + vacuum hose-£077

TOTAL...£1076 for a years motoring and thinking about making it a twin engined track car when it won't get through an MoT

Only been 1.1 leptons so far but she seems sweet...can't wait for Le Mans now biggrin

I 2nd the comment about putting on a 2.0D badge? Why bother? Completely pointless
