What to do in the Highlands?
Discussion
Mrs Baldbudha and I are going to Strathpeffer for a few days to chill out, as she will be 6 months pregnant at the time. So, does anyone have any ideas for things to do either in the local area or a little further afield? Bearing in mind, the mrs is pregnant nothing too strenuous!

Strathpeffer is a good central place to base yourselves.
Nice day runs over to Ullapool or Torridon/Applecross/Lochcarron or even Skye are all feasible. In the other direction Inverness/Nairn/Black Isle villages eg Cromarty or Fortrose (look out for dolphin viewing day sea trips) are a day out as well.
Plenty gentle walking to be done round about eg Rogie Falls or Ben Wyvis - you are more or less able to wander at will.
Dunrobin Castle is worth a visit as is Cawdor Castle if that's your thing.
Enjoy and hope you get good weather!

Distillery tour on a wet day?
Ullapool is absolutely lovely, and there's some cracking gardens there if that's your bag. The Gulf Stream means that they can grow some fairly exotic stuff.
I would also recommend the corryvrecken whirlpool, but not sure if your pregnant missus would want to go! Still consider a boat trip of some description to suit you in any of the western isles, whether it's for a day or a few hours.
There's also whale watching most of the year round too.

Cheers guys, plenty to do then! Quite fancy seeing a distillery ( got a designated driver handy
) and also seeing an out of the way castle. Ullapool I thought about for grabbing a bite to eat then either heading down the coast a bit or going further north?
At the risk of sounding daft, what exactly is this whirlpool?!

A run to Ullapool via Garve then down the coast to Gairloch - Kinlochewe - Garve (or carry on down to Torridon - Applecross - Lochcarron - Achnasheen - Garve from Kinlochewe if you're up for a mega-drive!) is certainly a must.
