and it seems even they toyed with the idea of a forward roof scoop...

Yes but...personally I do like the look of the forward scoop, provided it does not detract from the performance or engine operation. Hey if the idea is if its not 100% necessary don't fit it, then we would all be running around in thongs ONLY in the summer and driving Utimas with little or no bodywork!

Even the road car had a Lowered entry in-front of its more subtle roof scoop to promote air into the air box, less drag I guess.

Thanks so much for the video links. I'm amazed that so much air from the radiator goes over the passenger compartment roof. When I test the temperature of the air with the side window out it is ambient at about 3/4 the way up the A pillar.

+1 on that point. I think that if the scoop extended all the way to the front it would improve the shape of the car.

I'm tipping that there'd be quite a few that would retrofit one if the factory offered them.

Would love to have the forward facing scoop on my future build. It does finish the roof IMO as without it looks like something is missing. Factory please.....
