No idea about specific sites, but use this (http://www.americanproxy.org/) and Google will think you're in the US.

I use Hotwire.com, but it isn't any good if you want to know the exact Hotel name/chain before you book. There are ways of finding out though, through the BetterBidding forum.

or when you go into google just change the url to .com instead of .co.uk?

I have an american server so thinks Im in US rather than UK, I start google up and then do the above (oppostire of course) and it switches to the UK search engine.

The 'name your price' option has worked well for me in the past

Have you managed to get a decent price on anything? The rental car we're looking at is around $700, if i named a price around the $450 mark would that be taking the piss?

Used to use Priceline when living in the US and manage to get a full size car hire for around $15pd and hotels for around $60pn for a Hyatt Place/ Marriot Courtyard in.

Only thing say with buying car hire from a US site is if you have car hire insurance on a credit card great if not then you will have to pay extra for insurance, so stick to booking through a European site as the hire company has to supply the minimum insurance cover under EU regulations.

use http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/ to see what hotels are in the area you will be staying in, as when you bid on Priceline you could end up in 1 of 5 hotels and you wont know till you have placed a successful bid what one it will be.

Good place for printing coupons that you can use for 'walk-in' offers is http://www.roomsaver.com/
You can get the actual booklet from outside Diners / supermarkets when you are over there, too.
