My speedo although still showing speed perfectly and having successfully recorded my first 2500 miles has decided to stick at 21999.9 (great for any resale but not strictly legal?) - any chance I can rectify this myself?

i once heard of someone saying that by driving backwards around in circles a couple of times "frees up" a speedo. anyone know if there is any truth in this?

They all seem to do thios at one time or another. Give the glass a tap as your driving and that usually frees it up.

You could take the back off and apply a tiny bit of WD40 (do not spray) to all moving parts.

I also had that problem. For me it was not enough to tap the glass of the speedo. I had to knock gently on the speedo with the handle of a screwdriver from underneath the dash.
