Speeding near Santa Pod

Please be aware that the local police are targeting traffic around the Santa Pod area , in particular Irchester and Wollaston.

Fortunately I had the offer of a "Speed Awareness Course" following my 34mph infraction on Gypsy Lane a few years back.. (2009 I think)

Bah. I got 3 points and a 60 quid fine for my 35mph trip to the pod a few years back :-(

I got pulled on the A509 between J14 M1 and the Pod the other day so stick to the limit along there if I were you too...

I did get a stern warning but no ticket or course. Thank you Milton Keynes Police.

Stick to the speed limits = don't get nicked, fined, points on your licence ... simples

price up insurance for a new driver in a corsa, youd never take your test!

plus for 2 years its very easy to lose the licence

uninsured drivers are on the wane as ANPR catch more and cars get seized

when i was 19 i had a 3ltr rover saloon!

I got stopped by a team of our finest after ANPR had just been introduced... I had bought the car two days previously and I had it taxed correctly. The copper looked at my screen, smiled at me and then apologised as he said their software hadn't been updated for a few months. I told him that it was about time that they targeted the cheating bds that try to get away with no tax/insurance etc.

I was 2mph over the limit, I think they just wanted an excuse to stop people. I had a lecture and then had to fill out a small survey on a PDA.

Hmm... I thought they didn't bother if your speed was 10% + 2 MPH over the limit (i.e. 35 in a 30, 46 in a 40 etc). Maybe they are looking to assist the Government in trying to clear the deficit...

Dependant upon type of detection equipment used and the setup of the operation nowadays.

I personally think I was only pulled over to fill out the PDA survey...I don't feel speeding was the issue here.

Limit plus 10% is the max.

I do agree with other posters, that it is simply about adhering to the limit. I travel from Northampton up the A428, which has average speed cameras and some 30mph village stretches. When I get to the A507 and drive up to Bozeat I am already conditioned to watch my speed. I just have to quell my excitement and keep my concentration up.

The limit is the limit, however ACPO guidelines suggest points at which prosecution may occur..
