8 Cameras on 2 mile stretch of road (A65)

I dont know if anyone drives this road, i do every day to and from work, its the A65 from the ring road at Horsforth in Leeds to Rawdon/Yeadon. A total of about 8 cameras have popped up on either side of the road over a 2 mile stretch. At one point there are 3 on the same side each only 200 yards apart, this seems a bit like overkill, especially when you consider that at peak times the traffic doesnt exceed 20 mph on a good day!! Is this common practice, i dont think i have ever seen such a high number of cameras in one place.
