I tried it in Morocco once and it tasted fine. I thought it tasted a bit like crab but it was in a meat patty so who know what else was in it!

Kangaroo tastes great too.

I ate camel meat in Alice Springs, and very good it was too.

Sort of like horse only a bit less sweet, if that helps.

'Popular in the Middle East'

Well that's hardly bloody surprising is it! 'Camel or goat sir?'

Don't know which bit of foreign lands he's including for the 'popular in Europe' bit though.

"A bit chewy"? Try "fking chewy".

When I ate it, it was highly spiced, so I just chewed each chunk until the flavour went, then spat it out.

Quite so - Personally I can't abide folk who pass judgement on food without even trying it.

Picked up some Zebra steak at the weekend from a farm shop between Reading and Newbury (Ashampstead), very nice it was too. Have eaten Water Buffalo, crocodile, kangaroo, ostrich, bison, snake, locust, scorpion (last 3 whilst in China, they do eat anything that moves!!) - All good experience and nothing I wouldn't eat again. Broaden your horizons, someone somewhere eats it all of the time

I had 'baby' camel in Tunisia, on a day trip to the Desert. Best thing I ate the whole holiday. IIRC they eat some of the young ones and let the others reach maturity to be worked.

I do enjoy different meats - in South Africa I hunted a Blesbuck and that was gorgeous on the braai. Tasted even better that I shot it...

Say, what's the difference between a buffalo and a bison?
