Courier Advice Reqd

I have some good arriving from US at Felixstowe around 26/4.

7 packages of car bits, total weight 181kg volume 0.79M2 so about 27kg each box.
Now I need them delivering from felixstowe to my address in North yorkshire.

They are on a pallet I believe so could just go on back of a truck. I live 5 minutes away from A1, so anyone know anyone comming up this way with some space?

Any thoughts on couriers or likely cost? I don't really want to borrow a van and drive all that way.

Need the PH collective advice on this one.

Thanks for that the goods are being taken to Karl King Transport in Ipswich where I understand they need clearing by customs before they can be released for which i need an Agent? Anyone any experience of this can advise?

It's a long time since I've shipped anything from the states so my memory is not that clear. I would have thought the shipping firm would handle customs for you? I'd phone Karl King & see if they can act as your agent & also deliver to your address, obviously there is VAT & import duty to be paid & they will charge an administration fee. If your stuff is being shipped to them I'd guess that they have experience in dealing with customs. I think it would work out cheaper, & definitely easier, for them to do it rather than you.

I used to get stuff flown into Heathrow & go down & sort out the tax etc. myself & pick my packages up from the warehouse next door to the tax place which was handy, but I only lived an hour away so it was no biggy.
