Hello
I have an 08/08 Range Rover sport TDV8 which is out of manufacturers warranty on the 15th May 11. It has done 61k miles.
I have called 2 of my local dealers who never come back to me (which is normal), and i have called LandRover direct and the chap in the warranty department thought it was £1050.00 but was not sure. I told him the mileage was over 60k and would that make a difference. He had no idea.
Has anyone got any idea?????

How about digging out your warranty document, calling the number on them, and asking them?

Not that this will indicate exact costs but i'm quite certain that after 3 years the standard extended warranty can be applied to any vehicle as long as it's under 75k miles or 5 years, so yours ticks both those boxes. From memory my local dealers were quoting (on almost the identical vehicle '57 Reg') about £900. After the 5 years/75k you can then apply for a 'select warranty' which is subject to a full check over of the vehicle first and then it's basically Land Rover using a third party - this is about £700ish.

Although i've not found the dealer network to be perfect, my local dealers were knowledgable when I looked into warranties. Maybe it's worth seeing if there is a another dealer who's still fairly close and you may get third time lucky!? If you really want piece of mind with a warranty but cannot be bothered with dealers, then have a nose around on rrsport.co.uk as they have a couple of sponsors that do warranties for a few of the members and get good feedback.

Sorry, didn't read it properly, I just can't quite believe it can be that difficult. Why can't they confirm the figure, is it not quite due for renewal yet?

Thanks guys. KARLS which dealer did you speak too. My local ones are really not very good. I tried to buy a car 3 times from Hunters in Guildford and in the end bought privately. I cannot get a call returned from Thames Ditton dealer. As for head office, as i said, they cannot give me a figure.
For some reason unless the car is over 3 years old i am being told i cannot be given a figure. It is 3 years old in 2 weeks. I currently have a BMW and Porsche on extended warranties and it takes about 5 minutes to get a figure and arrange. Amazed!!

welcome to the joys of Range Rover ownership - it only gets worse sad to say

got mine back this morning with a £545 bill and the problem it went in for is still there!!!!!!!

the sooner Ratan Tata gets rid of the uk dealer network the better - for a £70K car there are too many faults and too many dealers who see owners as a license to print money!

Well it was a few months ago, but from memory the guy I spoke to in service at Barretts Canterbury was particularly helpful.

I have also had a few dealings with Lookers, London and they are really good. In fact try them first!!

I'll be in your situation in a couple of months - looking to extend my RR TDV8 warranty. I've found Guy Salmon in Thames Ditton to be very good - they always call back the same day and I've had no issues with them.

Let us know how you get on.
