Hi guys
I am new to piston heads so hi and excuse me if this has been discussed before.

Basically i am in the process of building a project car that has an uprated engine, replacement floorpan and rear wheel drive configuration from a donor car, along with various other mods (no body mods) I know it is going to be a pig to insure but was wondering if it would be easier if i had an engineers report.
The other issue is do i need an SVA test? Ihave looked on the Gov website but isnt very clear on when you need a test and for what reasons.

Thanks in advance
Tony

It's IVA now, SVA is history. Much the same but more picky.

AIUI, if you modify the chassis, suspension pick-up points, or anything like that, it will now have to have an IVA.

No idea how or if it will affect your insurance.

Can't help with the test, but I remember hearing of someone in my extended family who did a similar thing and ended up paying peanuts for insurance, as it was classed as a kitcar.
