Paris for TDF final stage

My other half pulled an awesome birthday present out of the bag for me this week - a weekend in Paris via E*, which just so happens to be the weekend the Tour finishes in Paris.

Obviously it's going to be busy, but has anyone been over there to see the final stage. Any tips etc??

My son was there a few years ago and watched from the Champs Elysees. Excellent atmosphere but get there early or you'll be at the back behind a dozen or so rows of spectators.
