As per title i've just bought my daughter a mini one for her birthday & it only has one key which is not the remote access one.
A replacement remote key from mini is £180 ! whereas a normal key is £42.
I was wondering if anyone knew if a remote could be programmed in to the car so it could be locked / unlocked via that instead or would this be even more expensive?

Yeah, you can unlock a car with a pound-shop universal remote.

Search online for 'auto locksmiths' and have a ring around - some can provide replacement keys & fobs cheaper than the dealer.

I phoned around for my CLK (dealer price £226) but they couldn't do mine as it was too old.

In the meantime tell her not to lose it wink

I hope you're confident the missing key is truly lost and your purchase doesn't vanish one night.

Yeah - check ebay.

There may be some procedure involved in matching the new remote to the car, or it may be something that only a dealer can do.
