It depends on which brand you go for, as Ferodo, Mintex, EBC, Pagid etc. will probably all do a fitment. I suspect Mintex may have been OE, but the intended use of your car will assist in deciding compound / brand. As a starter, Ferodo is FCP815 for the rear, but additional suffix letters denote the compound, e.g. FCP815H is Ferodo DS2500, which I use. You should be able to cross ref. from that to other brands. Can't help with the fronts I'm afraid.

Zig,

The front pads are from a Cortina Mk4/5, the rear pads are from a XJ or XJS of the same era as your car.

As already said pad composition is your choice, personally I wouldn't touch a standard spec. pad, but may be OK if drive very steady and slowly everywhere, as soon as you need to do a few reasonable speed stops/slowing in succession there will be lots of smoke from the pads and little in the way of braking.

I just bought a set of front Ferodo DS2500 that arrived today... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am... this was the best price I found, still about 5 times the price of a standard composition pad!

Into the garage tonight I think.............

Chris.

Just dont use the pedal in the middle, easy... hehe

Or get some of those brake covers for the wheels, i use a set on the SEAC and work ok.

Hi peeps..
Thanks for the info..Ive ended up ordering EBC green stuff pads for the front and rears..Please dont tell me they are rubbish..If they are then they will go straight back and will have to wait another week for the DS2500..Which were a little expensive at the moment as ive just bought a brand new WUR..Im having my old power steering pump overhauled as they both now leak in the same place..(at least ill have a spare)..Ive got some high temperature paint and another air intake collector..Hopefully gonna paint the rockers red and hammerite the power steering pump red as well..
I needed the pads to get here before saturday as Rooodboy has offered to fit them for me on sunday..Top bloke..Owe him a big jug of..drink
