noise testing

Hi All,

we went to a day at snetterton. it was 105 dB - and alot of monster cars were going round.

our failed at 106.3 db.

we managed to re test at low revs - what rev should we be testing at ....? its an m400

ps round the track we were no way the loudest thing out there !! ( race preped Aston )

Sounds like it must be an aftermarket exhaust.

The test should be a 3/4 revs but just tell them the Noble redlines at 6k RPM and then test at 4,500 RPM. That's what I did with my Roush exhaust. Then keep away or lift off when you are passing the on track meters.

I also left my noise test (passed) sticker on the car permanently.

Bloody hell thats loud !!!! only exhaust that does that is the Rousch system , i went through last time at snett at 96db :-)

106 means its lost all its wadding... get the silencers repacked and it will drop 3+db's

Failing that a pair of new silencers could be made for around £500 that should be just as free flowing but get you down to under 100db's, if you are close to essex/suffolk then I can put in contact with the man who makes mine and will make silencers to spec as he actually makes the entire silencer.
