Plenum marked 4.5 ona 4.0????
Discussion
Hi ,as a "new" Chimaera owner,I got mine in Feb this year,I am learning about it all the time....I have also read the "Bible" cover to cover so would like to think I was becoming reasonably knowledgeable. But today whilst polishing under the bonnet, yes I do mean that,I notice that the plenum is marked "Chimaera 450" and yet the car is a 4 litre confimed by the chassis plate,V5 and service books etc. Any ideas as to why this would be????
I also understand from the previous owner that the car has been chipped and sorted by Mark Adams with carbon fibre inlets/trumpets etc.I dont profess to know much about engine tuning suffice to say it's driven 90 miles each day to my office and back and it drives like a dream !!!!!!!!!!!
Look forward to some information.....

One of 2 things......
Either a previous owner has had the engine size increased, if so, you would think you'd have a detailed invoice for the work in the service history, and your insurance company will want to know about it
Or some muppet has stuck a 4.5 badge on to try to increase the size of there manhood down the pub

I just wondered if the 450 plenum was larger or something and could be used as a tuning aid for the 400?????
I recently had my plenum top polished and noticed that the casting marks on the inside show part numbers for both the 400 and 450 engine so it is probably the same, it may of been swapped for one with a modified bigger butterfly to flow more air, unless the 450 has a bigger butterfly anyway?
