First Time At Spa
Discussion
For me too it was a first at Spa - actually a first outside the Bedford track.
Waow, superb track, lots of fun - shame it's so far away from London.
An epic trip, left London sunday late afternoon around 16:30, got in Spa at midnight...tracked all day monday until 16.00, caught the Eurotunnel at 20.30, Central London around 22.30
Sunny and hot day, good staff, good food...waow!
Lapped my 997.1RS 3.12/3.17 (on PS2) which is quite far from my buddy Neil 2.52 (on PS2) in a 997GT3 and another white 997.1RS which we saw lapping in 2.47 (on slicks)

Was there too, amazing place. I have always Javelin found pretty good, decent mix of cars and generally friendly group. They shared the day with a German TDO. Perhaps 50-75 cars there I would guess, but was never too busy. A lot of the time found myself lapping with no-one else around, I guess at 4.3 miles there is a lot of space.
Overtaking allowed on either side (by consent) took a while to get my head around but makes sense given the number of LH corners there.
Some of the GT3 RS's were indeed mighty quick.

good organisation and really didn't see many of the 75 cars on the track, didn't really encounter traffic (were there really 75 cars?? ).
Everybody was playing very fair, signalling when slow to let others pass...very good day (best one so far actually)
What They Said ^^^^
Really well behaved to be fair.
Overtaking by consent on both sides worked well for me "Giving and Receiving" (Oo er missus!
)
Also hard to believe that there were 75 of us but as already said being such a long circuit always made me feel like I was just one of a few.
Well impressed and looking forward to going back.
Can't believe that nobody from here mentioned Pistonheads to me on the day though!!
I have smilies on my wheel centres, boot and steering wheel.
Catch you all next time.

I was there in my MK2 Golf. What an amazing day ! The weather was perfect and the track manners were some of the best I`ve experienced.
I too found that the `overtake on either side` took a while to get used to, but once I did it worked very well. It was the first time Javelin had run a day at Spa and I thought it went very well indeed. The briefing was to the point but not too long, the `calm down guys` chat they gave in the pitlane after lunch was probably needed and seemed to do the trick.
I had a small `moment` at Eau-Rouge and a misfire that took a little while to diagnose, but apart from that, it was a VERY enjoyable day.
I spoke to `rainmasterb` who was there in his Porsche that was going very nicely. I think I spoke to some others from PH, but I`m not sure...
