Well, I've only gone and done it already haven't I ...not sorted my wheel stud problem yet ..
but started a thread ! I had kinda gone down the hub off ,ask resident studs to vacate , nicely of course !
then replace with some lovely long ones , what I'me not looking forward to is the removal of said hub nut,
from what I've read you need the weight of our national debt to undo and retighten ! anyway just a quick question
when said hub IS reinstalled is there any preloading required and then back off to the requisite split pin position, or is it just an on/off jobbie ?

No pre-load, just tighten to 230 torques. Split pin is advisable, if possible by re-using any existing hole in the shaft and drilling the shoulder of the nut to suit.

Or better still use a castelated nut and shim it: correct torque and correct position for pin as designed and done for over a century.

Why on earth didn't TVR do that ? confused

Pay particular attention to the nearside rear, as it is normal thread so more likely to try to unwind itself.
