£5k - SLK or something else?

Colleague at work has told me he is looking at SLK's for around the £5k mark. Not sure if he has is heart set on it but wanted to bring to his attention alternatives.
Can you get a decent S2000 for that sort of money these days?
Criteria is 2 seater roadster type thing.
