HELP! Bonnet stuck

Morning everyone.

Recently required a mk1 Mx5 and up untill last night all has been well however I went to check the oil last night and when I pull the bonnet release it sounds like the bonnet pops open but it doesn't. Then with the bonnet still closed if I push down it clicks into the catch as if it were open.

Can anyone help please as I was planning on doing a bit of work over the bank holiday.

First thing I would do is get someone to press up and down on the front of the bonnet quickly as you pull the release cable.If it then opens, lube it all up.

mine sticks every now and then but i find when it does if you push it back down to here the click then try pulling the bonet release again it works.

or flip the lights up and pull the bonet up a bit that works too.
