Hello All

Was toying with the idea of selling the Cerbera and buying an XKRS for the summer. However, one trip in the Cerbie made me the see the error of my ways

So, needed a cheap convertible for the summer and bought this yesterday on a spur of moment thing:

It seems in pretty good nick - could do with a nice hardtop!

Picking it up on Saturday. Anything I should know about these??

V8 500 version, just in case you were wondering!!!

Picked it up for 5K!! FSH

Can't imagine why? "Hi sweetheart, while I was out I spent £5k on another car, hope you don't mind?" wink

Excellent! Nice collection too, really want the E39 myself!

I love the 129 SL500
A mate's Dad bought one about 15 years ago and still drives it now. I think it has over 200k miles on the clock now. *scurries off to the Classifieds for a LHD version*

Lovely cars. Bought one myself earlier in the year instead of a Bentley Turbo R! Love it. So long as everything works (especially the roof) you should be good to go. They seem to be very highly thought of in the Merc community and don't suffer from the rust issue that later cars have.

326 bhp is good fun!

Love it... Takes bargetastic to an uber cool convertible slant. Very nice car.

Dont worry, that fades the more cars you buy. Ive reached the stage where I just get a scowl and rolling eyes at 4 cars. I believe 5 cars is just general muttering and 6 generally goes unnoticed. 2 was the hardest, withdrawal of sex for 2 weeks, but once you're through the pain, its easier from thereon in.

Using that logic she should congratulate you on car 10 so keep at it fella. :-)

Just been out in it today and I seem to be winning the wife around....!!

Father in law loved it as he is a bit of a car nut himself

We are taking it over to Malvern Classic Car show tomorrow - should be a nice drive although I will get through £50 quid of petrol on the drive alone!!

Just need to keep my eye out for a nice hard top now and try to get the drivers side electric seat working!
