My aircon blows warm air at me very effectively, so I thing it needs a re-gass and maybe a service.

I cant decide whether to take it to my local aircon specialist or to a TVR specialist, the former is 15 mins away the latter is an hour away.

Who do people trust for their re-gass?

I would try a local, if that doesn't work then take it to the specialist. They will lose a little gas through the seals over the winter, but if it is losing lots might be a leak. Either way the local guy will tell you before he re-gasses, if there is a major problem then a specialist, but it is a simple system in principle.

quick fit as per dave above.

They measure how well it is performing they then have to increase its performance by a certain percentage. If they do not improve it you do not pay.

Standard A/C check, re-gas and ad compressor oil should be about £60/65.
For that, they evacuate system, hold vacuum for ....45mins (I'm guessing) to check for leaks, then re-gas and add oil.

Leaks will be apparent when they can't hold the vacuum for the specified period - i.e. air is getting in to the system.

My local garage did my Chimaera and it came back blowing icy cold with the A/C on.
