Turned aluminium dashes

Now it looks like the car's going to be in the workshop for a while I'm starting to think back to the other jobs I wanted to do on it and one is the dashboard. I'm now pretty positive I want a turned aluminium dash. The only thing that concerns me is the potential for glare if you get the sun behind you on a bright day. Can someone who's got one comment?

And if that was yours in the Chimaera I was admiring at the Ace meet last night then very nicely done!

The old Griff had the turned ally dash Chris. Best option IMHO. Used it every day for 18 months, did glare once or twice but never considered it a problem....

I had one in the old chim and it was fine never a glare issue in 3 years even when in Italy mid summer.

Alloy dash presents no glare problems ..... dont though change the screen heater vents for shiny leven ones, they do cause a distraction when the suns out.

As per pwd95's comment I think glare has happened once in over a 8k miles.

Are they aluminium ? And not stainless ?

I only suggest stainless, as the engine turning in ali might be less long lasting.

They certainly look like stainless to me.

Don't remember any problems from glare in the 40,000 miles i have done in mine.

My dash was factory fitted i believe.
