It is a bloody good engine but why Ford does not put it in their cars anymore after the Puma production was stopped? Is it because it is too expensive?
It is such a shame to kill off that engine.

When the Puma was discontinued the engine was as well. It's an enlarged capacity version of the 1.25, 1.4 & 1.6 Fiesta / Focus engine. But as you can get Focus with an alloy 2.0 (and in the USA 2.3) that delivers a lot of horsepower for the weight, then you might as well have the benefits of the flatter torque curve that the bigger engine gives. There's no substitute for capacity, especially when the replacement engine is a gem too.
