Suzuki Ignis Sport

Put fresh pads and discs on the front today. Anyone else done theirs on an Ignis Sport? Can you tell me if the spring clips hold the pads tight or should they be able to move back and forth freely? Mine were quite tight and hold the pads quite firmly in place on the pad carrier same as the ones I took out. Both discs were rusty on inside face(MOT advisory). Wondered if anyone has had a similar experience with this and could help? Thanks Jim
