1967 TVR Tuscan V8 battery.
Discussion
Hi,
I know an owner of a 1967 TVR Tuscan V8 and the car has been off the road now for a while
now as the battery refuses to charge. I suggested buying a cheap Halfords battery, but apparently
a special battery is required. Is someone able to shed some light on the matter for me, and also where would I be able to purchase one?

For fear of being accused of urolagnia a normal battery has 6 cells arranged in a straight line and is suitable for cars with an engine up to a straight 6. Tuscan V8 will need a special battery with 2 banks of 4 cells arranged in a "V" formation and are quite expensive. You will also need to convert all electrics to 16 volt.
ps, which branch of Halfrauds sells cheap batteries.
Happy Easter

maybe they mean that it has different connections? modern battery has round pins wich the connectors are clamped around, Tuscan has flat connectors with a hole in it, wich the wires are directly screwed onto (at least mine does)
This obviously excludes all the old cars with round connectors and all the modern ones with flat.Have a Very Happy Easter
Speak to Banner Batteries (get the number on-line)...measure your old unit, explain what your using for and the tech guy will talk about amperage and cranking power, then if you are miles away from the Midlands point you at a dealer ...if that happens, take the number that he gives you along and order the unit.
