Hi all, I've just bought a set of M3 alloys for my e36 and the rear tyres are 255/40/17 which look like they are too wide and will rub on the arches. The fronts are 225/45/17.
Does anybody know the correct tyre size for the wheels? (They are not the staggerd type)
Cheers

The M3s came on 235/40x17s all round originally

You could leave the front ones as is and switch the backs to 245/40x17s if you want to mirror the later set-up

For the later M3 EVO's the correct size tyres should be:

FRONT: 225/45/17 (on a 7.5 rim width)
REAR: 245/40/17 (on a 8.5 rim width)

(oops! should have read the previous post first! getmecoat)
